Informed Consent
Once adequate information is obtained to allow formulation of a treatment plan, informed consent is obtained before surgery. This step is best accomplished using a team approach involving the surgeon and the restorative
dentist. Models of various implant-supported prostheses can be used to demonstrate the proposed treatment. The patient should be informed regarding the timing of surgery, the possible necessity of two surgical procedures
